With 30 years of experience in public advocacy, strategic communications and teaching, I’m Steven Goldstein and I couldn’t be more different from a consulting firm that hands your work to junior staff. From start to finish, you’ll get my nonstop ideas and personal implementation, woven by my unshakable belief that results are everything.
After winning 10 Emmy Awards for news producing and writing, I became a producer for Oprah Winfrey. I’m the author of the HarperCollins book The Turn-On, praised by reviewers as “life-changing,” “psychologically provocative,” and one of the top five marketing books of the year.
Throughout my career in public service, including as a senior staffer in the U.S. House and Senate and executive director of state and national civil rights organizations, I helped to write or steer to passage more than 200 laws at the federal, state and local levels. My work has been the subject of two motion pictures, including a documentary that won the Oscar. The Associated Press has described my impact as “magical.”
I’ll bring you insights come from the real-world corridors of power and the cutting-edge theories of persuasion. I hold a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where I served as editor in chief of the Harvard Journal of Public Policy; a Master of Science from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism; and a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where I won my first-year moot court competition. I received my B.A. summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Brandeis University.
